Revision Time
My daughter, "my baby" KT needs to get a revision of her shunt. She's continually had issues for a while now and they've finally decided to put in a Programmable Shunt. So I guess she'll be part cyborg or something.
I'm scared to death. She's worried about them shaving her head. She is also upset that she won't be able to jump around & head bang on her 16th birthday which is in 3 weeks. So in her words "I'll be bald and lame for my sweet 16!!!" I think she's just focusing on her hair so she doesn't have to think about the surgery. The docs make it sound like it's no big deal, "just plumbing". Yeah, it's only brain surgery, what could go wrong????

Aren't doctors just great? Everything is routine, another day at the office to them. I'm wishing you and your daughter well. Oh, and a Happy Sweet 16th.
My prayers will be with you and your daughter. I am sorry you are all having to deal with such a scary surgery. Hopefully your daughter will have a wonderful 16th birthday anyway. :)
